General Questions

An IBC (Intermediate Bulk Container) tote is a reusable industrial container designed for storing and transporting liquids and granulated substances. They typically hold 275 or 330 gallons and consist of a plastic inner tank, a protective metal cage, and a pallet base for forklift handling.
We primarily stock 275-gallon (1000L) and 330-gallon (1250L) IBC totes, which are the most common sizes. We can also source larger 550-gallon containers for special applications. Contact us if you need a specific size.
Food-grade totes are specifically cleaned and certified for use with food, beverages, and pharmaceuticals. They must meet FDA requirements and have documented cleaning procedures. Industrial-grade totes are suitable for chemicals, oils, and other non-food applications.
With proper care, IBC totes can last many years. The tank typically has a 5-year service life for hazmat applications, but can last longer for general use. Regular inspection and maintenance extend container life. Factors affecting lifespan include UV exposure, chemical compatibility, and handling.

HDPE containers are compatible with most water-based solutions, many acids and bases, alcohols, and detergents. They are not suitable for strong oxidizers, aromatic solvents, or chlorinated solvents. Always verify compatibility for your specific application.
Yes, many components can be repaired or replaced: valves, gaskets, lids, cages, and pallets. Tank damage may be repairable depending on severity. We offer repair and refurbishment services. Major tank cracks usually mean the container should be recycled.
Store IBC totes on level surfaces, protected from extreme temperatures and UV exposure when possible. Empty totes should be capped to prevent contamination. Ensure adequate ventilation if storing containers with residual contents.
